I walked into a small independent camera store today to see about getting my Nikon fixed. Things are falling apart. The rubber lens ring flops around like a hulahoop. The focus is erratic, sometimes tack sharp, sometimes focusing four inches in front of what I'm aiming at. The camera even shuts off now and again. I've managed to atleast "fix" the last problem with a little piece of folded paper that I stick in the battery compartment to maintain constant pressure on the electrical contacts. Early on in the trip I more or less destroyed a rear wheel. Only about… Full Story »

What if time travel were possible - when and where would you visit? From ancient Egypt to 20's New York, Turner Wright offers his own historical suggestions. Two hundred years ago a traveler had to wait months to traverse oceans. We now have the means to wake up in New York and fall asleep in Sydney, all in the same day. But the tradeoff is that culture and history are being lost. Remote islanders maintain their outdated tribal customs merely to get a buck from the nearest walking wallet with a camera. Cities that in ancient times were considered quaint… Full Story »

Nice features......a few quirks I purchased this camera in March 2010 because I spend a lot of time in the remote areas of Utah hiking and camping. I thought the geotagging feature would be great with my iPhoto and Garmin software. The GPS function does work well with iPhoto and Google Earth, but is slow to lock on to satellites. I have a Garmin GPS handheld unit and I am familiar with all of the issues that cause these types of problems.
